(Internal Only) Billing & Collections Team Lead

This is an internal posting for BRBH employees only. 

The Billing & Collections Team Lead provides leadership and operational oversight for the day-to-day activities of the billing and collections team. This role is responsible for managing workflow, supporting and training staff, resolving complex billing and payment discrepancies, and monitoring performance to ensure timely billing and collections. The Team Lead serves as a subject matter expert in billing, payer requirements, and revenue cycle processes, while actively identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy.

In addition to oversight responsibilities:

  • The Team Lead will perform core Billing Specialist functions as part of the role which includes researching and resolving denials, rejections, and unpaid balances.
  • The position collaborates closely with internal staff to address billing issues, improve processes, and maintain compliance with Revenue Cycle policies and procedures.
  • The position supports personnel-related functions, including hiring, employee evaluations, timekeeping approvals, and staff meetings, and serves as a key liaison between the billing team and management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training, and/or work experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of four (4) years' experience in behavioral healthcare setting.
  • Background Check: Candidates who are offered a position are required to undergo a background check and drug screen.
