Authorization Specialist

BRBH is seeking a well-organized and detail oriented candidate with knowledge of billing processes and 3rd party authorizations. The ideal candidate will be skillful with data entry and online authorization processing. This position requires the ability to effectively interact and collaborate, work independently, and balance multiple tasks successfully.

The Authorization Specialist plays an essential role in agency revenue generation from clinical services provided. The Authorization Specialist provides fiscal support for clinical programs by:

  • Verification of Medicaid eligibility,
  • Preparing & submitting requests for authorization using fax & online systems,
  • Monitoring service utilization of authorized services
  • Tracking authorization expirations, session limit requirements, and reauthorization due dates,
  • Reporting trends and recommends solutions for identified problems.

The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm with the option to work from home on a hybrid basis.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Associate's Degree in business-related coursework or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years' experience with insurance eligibility and benefit verification.
  • Background Check: Candidates who are offered a position are required to undergo a background check and drug screen.
