Position Summary/Responsibilities

The SMVF Therapist or Licensed Therapist provides assessments, treatment planning, referrals, and evidence-based trauma therapies. They may provide educational presentations within the agency or throughout the community to help increase knowledge of SMVF culture, resources, and best practices. (This is a grant position - SMVF STEP-VA).

Hiring Range

The anticipated base salary for the Therapist position is $51,630.81 to $55,940.32. The anticipated salary for the Licensed Therapist position is $66,627.61 to $70,937.12. Actual compensation offered within this range will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities), geographic location, complexity of role, and other relevant business considerations. We kindly ask that candidates do not discuss compensation until after an offer of employment is extended.

Requirements

• Education: This position requires a Master's degree in a human services field that fulfills the criteria for eligibility for professional licensure as a professional counselor or clinical social worker in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Experience: Working with Service Members, Veterans, and Families is a plus! Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience which includes attainment of licensure (Licensed Therapist).
• Licenses/Certifications: Required to pursue licensure as Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
• Background Check: Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry report will be required upon selection.
• Safe Driving Record: This position requires transporting clients or driving agency vehicles. Candidates must have a good driving record, which is defined as no more than two moving violations in the last three years and no criminal moving violations in the last five years.

Special Work Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will often sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach above their head. Use of hands for placing and pulling objects. The employee frequently lifts and or carries up to 10 pounds and pushes or pulls up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (computer and documentation). Specific hearing required by this job includes normal tones. Travel up to 5%. Travel is local.
