Position Summary/Responsibilities
Use your clinical skills in a setting where dignity, compassion, and person-centered care come first. Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare is hiring a Clinician (QMHP) for our Carrington Cottage Memory Care Unit, supporting residents living with dementia and, at times, co-occurring mental health or behavioral challenges.

- Build clinical expertise in assessment, planning, behavioral supports, and consultation.
What You'll Do
- Provide individualized clinical support for residents with dementia and related mental health/behavioral needs.
- Complete assessments and contribute to person-centered plans that promote dignity, stability, and maximum independence.
- Implement evidence-based behavioral supports, positive interventions, and structured routines.
- Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure consistent approaches across shifts.
- Coach staff on de-escalation and person-centered, trauma-informed engagement.
- Support independent living skills through planning, cueing, encouragement, and skill-building. This role is not responsible for directly completing ADLs (e.g., bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding), but may coordinate with direct care staff when ADL needs affect behavioral health.
Hiring Range
The anticipated base salary for this position is $20/hour. Actual compensation offered within this range will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities), geographic location, complexity of role, and other relevant business considerations. We kindly ask that candidates do not discuss compensation until after an offer of employment is extended.
Requirements
- Education: Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree and possess a current and valid Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) certification.
- Experience: A minimum of one year of clinical experience working with SMI population preferred.
- Licensure/Certifications: Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).
- Background Check: Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry report will be required upon selection.
- Safe Driving Record: This position requires transporting clients or driving agency vehicles. Candidates must have a good driving record, which is defined as no more than two moving violations in the last three years and no criminal moving violations in the last five years.
Special Work Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will often sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, crawl, climb and reach above their head. Use of hands for placing and pulling objects. The employee frequently lifts and or carries up to 25 pounds and pushes or pulls up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (assisting with medication, reading, and computer work). Specific hearing required by this job includes normal tones. Travel is up to 45%. Travel is local.
