Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), 23-Hour (Part Time)

You can be part of implementing a new program in our region that will enhance resources for people experiencing a mental health crisis!

  • Starting Pay: $24.40/hour, with scheduled increases. Additional compensation dependent on experience.
  • Schedule: Part Time/Fewer than 30 hours. This position will include various shifts, including possible holidays, possible weekends, and a rotational on-call schedule with other team members.
  • Evening/weekend hours are eligible for 11% shift differential.

What is the 23-Hour Crisis Stabilization Program?

The program is open 24/7 for anyone voluntarily seeking support for mental health emergency or crisis. They can stay at the center for up to 23 hours, where they will get support from trained professionals. The goal is to keep beds available at hospitals and provide an alternative place for someone to stay in a crisis.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) duties include:

  • Physical, dental, mental health assessments & discharges
  • Obtaining and interpreting vital signs and weight
  • Drawing and running labs and monitoring lab results
  • Administering oral (PO), subcutaneous (SubQ), and/or intramuscular (IM) medications
  • Educating clients regarding psychotropic/medical medication side-effects and health and wellness topics
  • Initiating or responding to phone contacts with clients, medical providers, pharmacists, case managers and other providers, as appropriate, regarding medication needs, lab reports, side effects, etc.
  • Documenting all pertinent nursing assessments or notes in the electronic health record, and accurately documenting medication orders and administration
  • Documenting services

Qualifications:

  • Licensure/Certifications: Must have an active, unrestricted license as an LPN.
  • One Year of Experience providing medication management is required. Psychiatric nursing experience is a plus!
  • Background Check: Candidates who are offered a position are required to undergo a background check and drug screen.
