Learning & Development Specialist

Do you have experience in instructional design, coordination and delivery of training, program management of new hire orientation, and/or administration of an LMS?

Pay Range: $19.55-$29.33

The Learning and Development Specialist is integral to fostering employee growth and ensuring compliance with organizational training standards. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging training sessions, serve as a program manager for New Hire Orientation (post hire), and coordinate with Talent Acquisition and Leadership to ensure a seamless onboarding experience, administer the Learning Management System (LMS), and maintain compliance with training requirements. In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Training: Provides instruction in behavioral intervention, First Aid/CPR/AED, mental health intervention, opioid overdose and naloxone education intervention and cultural humility. Maintains and updates the New Hire Mandatory Trainings checklist in Process Street as needed. Develops mandatory training schedules for new hires and assigns mandatory new hire trainings in the learning management system (LMS). Keeps new employee orientation materials up-to-date. Schedules, prepares, delivers, and documents various employee trainings in the HRIS and LMS. Assists the learning and development coordinator with the creation of employee trainings. Tracks the trauma-informed training hours for clinical staff. Responsible for the electronic and paper based filing and retention of training records.
  • Clinical Licensure: Supports the clinical licensure supervision process at BRBH, orienting new employees to the process, assisting with forms, and maintaining supervision files. Helps with new credential processing. Assures that the credentialing process for staff remains current with regulations. Manages the collection and confirmation of licensure and verification of credentials such as QMHP, QSAP, LMHP, Case Manager KSA verification process, etc. Coordinates annual license renewal updates for all licenses, registrations, and certifications governed by the Board of Health Professions and the Virginia Certification Board. Updates and maintains email signature credentials.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education/work experience in Human Resources, business or related field.
  • Experience: Two (2) years of experience in Learning and Development, Adult Education, Training, Human Resources or related field.
  • Licensure/Certifications: Certifications must be obtained as soon as possible but no longer than 12 months. (Behavioral Intervention, First Aid/CPR/AED, Mental Health First Aid, REVIVE! Opioid Overdose & Naloxone Education, and Cultural Humility)
  • Safe Driving Record: This position requires being eligible to drive agency vehicles, so candidate's driving record must have no more than two moving violations in the last three years and no criminal violations in the last five years.
  • Background Check: Candidates will be required to submit to a fingerprint criminal background check and drug screen.
