(Internal Only) Referral Specialist

Our Outpatient Counseling team is looking for administrative support to help adults with substance use disorders and mental illness begin receiving services. Come join a strong team!

Pay Range: $16.16-$24.24/hour

This position is Full Time. The schedule is 8:00-4:30; Monday - Friday (with half hour lunch). This position offers opportunities for days working via telehealth from home.

What we are looking for: The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills and will enjoy assisting individuals who have mental health and substance use disorders. The successful candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel, honor client rights, and be able to project a positive/professional image under pressure.

The Referral Specialist is the main contact for clients who are referred for services for outpatient counseling. They perform a variety of administrative support duties to assure the smooth entry into clinical services. Duties include:

  • Processes program referrals for Outpatient Counseling Services
  • Help clients problem solve barriers that arise when accessing services
  • Oversees several client rosters, follows up with clients and referral sources regarding missed appointments, completes discharge paperwork as needed
  • Complete monthly reports for referral sources
  • Tracking of data to help ensure compliance with Medicaid regulations
  • Other administrative support duties as needed to support program

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Associates degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a business environment. Preferred experience interacting with a diverse population, including individuals with mental illness or substance use disorders.
  • Background: Candidates who are offered a position are required to undergo a background check and drug screen.
