Emergency Services Therapist

Pay:

  • Master's Degree: $27/hour Degree must be eligible to register as a Resident in Counseling or Supervise in Social Work.
  • Licensed LPC or LCSW Pay: $34/hour
  • 11% Shift Differential
  • Scheduled increases with tenure!
  • Additional compensation commensurate with experience.

Schedule: Several schedule options available including 3 12-hour shifts, 4 10-hour shifts, and 5 8-hour shifts.

Emergency Services Therapist

Join a team dedicated to providing compassionate and effective mental health care to individuals in crisis. Our Emergency Services program provides on-site and telehealth crisis services and psychiatric hospital preadmission screening within local hospitals and jails.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct crisis assessments, including psychiatric history, medication compliance, and substance abuse evaluation.
  • Provide crisis counseling and intervention.
  • Collaborate with police, magistrates, doctors, and family members to determine best possible outcomes and appropriate treatment plans.
  • Provide referrals for ongoing care, such as inpatient hospitalization or community resources.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a mental health professional
  • Experience in crisis intervention and mental health assessment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, work well within a team setting, and can lead when individuals are in crisis. To be successful in this role you must have good communication and time management skills and be detailed oriented.

Requirements:

  • Education: Master's degree in Counseling or Social Work that is eligible for registration as a Resident in Counseling or Supervisee in Social Work
  • Certification/Licensure: Training provided to become a Certified Pre-screener within the first 6 months of employment. We will provide free licensure supervision to pursue licensure as Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Safe Driving Record: Candidates must have a valid Virginia driver's license with a safe driving record (no more than two moving violations in the last three years AND no criminal violations in the last five years).
  • Background Check: Candidates who are offered a position are required to complete a background check and drug screen.
