Children’s Services Act (CSA) Specialist

The Children's Services Act (CSA) Specialist oversees all of the CSA cases and referrals to the Family Assessment and Planning Teams (FAPT) across the five localities we serve. They provide case support, work with the families, prepare all CSA paperwork, and present cases at FAPT. They monitor and report on services monthly for FAPT cases.

The schedule for this position is: M-F regular business hours (8:30am-5:00pm)

The CSA Specialist facilitates interagency community collaboration and coordination of services.

A typical day usually consists of (but not limited to!):

  • Preparing case presentations
  • Representing BRBH to community stakeholders
  • Coordinate referrals from CSA offices
  • Meet with parent/guardians to complete needs assessment, including the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) Assessment
  • Meets with Families/guardians to educate on the FAPT process
  • Completing financial paperwork
  • Coordinating referrals to residential placements
  • Monitor placements and provision of community-based services
  • Provide monthly summaries to CSA
  • Ensure reporting is complete for CSA billing

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a human services field that meets requirements to register for QMHP.
  • Experience: One year of human services experience required. Experience in the provision of community-based services and supports is preferred.
  • Good Driving Record: This position may occasionally require transporting clients or driving an agency vehicle. Candidates must have a valid Virginia driver's license with a safe driving record (no more than two moving violations in the last three years AND no criminal violations in the last five years).
  • Background Check: Candidates who are offered a position are required to undergo a background check and drug screen.
