Child & Adolescent Discharge Planner Therapist

Are you interested in providing therapy and services to children/adolescents discharging from mental health facilities?

The Discharge Planning Therapist in our Children's Outpatient Counseling Program works with clients under the age of 18 that are being discharged from mental health facilities. The Discharge Planner serves as a go-between with the mental health facilities and the community resources. They also provide mental health and substance use therapy, crisis interventions, assessments, treatment planning, and referrals to help them reach their treatment goals and objectives. This position will carry a reduced therapist caseload due to discharge planning duties.

The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday!

License Eligible Starting Pay: $24.09/hour. Licensed Starting Pay: $31.09/hour. Additional compensation commensurate with experience. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree in Counseling or Social Work and fulfills the criteria for eligibility to pursue professional licensure as a professional counselor or clinical social worker in the Commonwealth of Virginia. LPC or LCSW preferred.
  • Experience: One year of experience working with Children and adolescents who may be at risk of, or are, seriously emotionally disturbed, experiencing substance use, or Co-Occurring Disorders; and their families. If licensed a minimum two (2) years clinical experience which includes attainment of licensure.
  • Safe Driving Record: No more than two moving violations in the last three years, no criminal driving violations in the last five years.
  • Background Check: Candidates who are offered a position must undergo a background check and drug screen.
