Admissions Facilitator

The Admissions Facilitator is primarily responsible for assessing client referrals for services with the Crisis Stabilization Unit. Referrals will be screened to ensure the client meets criteria for admission to the Crisis Stabilization Unit based upon Medicaid guidelines, unit guidelines, medical stability and psychiatric acuity. The incumbent will work directly with the client to obtain a completed client referral form. If the client is appropriate for admission, admission time will be scheduled. If client is not appropriate for admission, other potential sources of help are suggested. The Admissions Facilitator will help track referral related data on various spreadsheets. The Admissions Facilitator will form and maintain positive relationships with BRBH and community referral sources. At time of referral, this position will utilize the Electronic Health Record to view any current or past treatment to assist in determining appropriateness for admission of the client. Strict adherence to HIPPA and 42-CFR is required. As part of the interdisciplinary team, the Admissions Facilitator will present perspective client information during daily team meetings so that supervisory, clinical, and nursing staff will know who is coming and information about the client. In addition, the incumbent will answer phones, greet clients and visitors, assist with the admissions process, and will obtain items from storage/kitchen that the client may need. The incumbent will maintain positive and professional relations and communications with the client, the client's family and staff and referral sources.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Associates or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum one (1) year experience working with seriously mentally ill and/or chemically dependent population. Experience in a residential/inpatient/hospital setting preferred. Experience with admissions preferred.
  • Licenses/Certification: CSAC or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Safe Driving Record: No more than two moving violations in the last three years, no criminal driving violations in the last five years.
  • Background Check: Candidates who are offered a position are required to undergo a background check and drug screen.
